If your A1C is rising or your current diabetes plan is difficult to follow, RescueMD’s A1C Accelerator offers a focused 12-week period of medical and nutrition support. We review your starting point, set a goal that fits your health, and adjust the plan as you go. Patients can ask about visits at our Allen office or virtual care where available.
The program may suit adults with prediabetes or type 2 diabetes who want more structure around food choices, activity, medications and follow-up. It can also help someone who has new lab results and wants to understand the next steps. If you have type 1 diabetes, are pregnant or have complex medication needs, ask for an individualized medical assessment so the right care team and monitoring are in place.
Your clinician reviews your medical history, medications, recent A1C and other relevant information. Together, you choose an appropriate glycemic goal and identify any issues that need prompt attention. The program is designed around your clinical needs, not a promised number of A1C points.
A registered dietitian can help you understand how meals affect blood sugar and adapt portions, carbohydrates, fiber and meal timing to your food preferences and treatment. For broader nutrition care, see our dietitian services. Nutrition support can also address weight when relevant, but you do not have to pursue a specific diet to participate.
Your prescribing clinician can review medication effectiveness, side effects and whether changes are appropriate. Movement, sleep and other daily habits may also be discussed. Follow-up lets the team respond to what is working and what is getting in the way. Monitoring may include lab tests or glucose data when useful; continuous glucose monitoring is an option for some patients, not a requirement for everyone.
A1C summarizes average blood glucose over roughly the prior two to three months. A repeat test around the end of a 12-week program can help evaluate progress, but individual results depend on baseline levels, medications, health conditions and the plan you are able to follow. Some treatment changes need closer glucose monitoring before the next A1C test. Your clinician will advise you on timing and safety.
The 12-week program is a focused period for setting a plan and assessing response. Ongoing diabetes management and primary care remain important for blood pressure, kidney and eye health, medication review and long-term follow-up.
